Video Blog - Wetbox two seater KRX Shoot Out vs. a Talon four seater 14,000 dollar roof system

Wetbox two seater KRX Shoot Out vs. a Talon four seater 14,000 dollar roof system.

Results of the Shoot Out!

VOLUME - This roof system did far better than most, 50% more volume than 8 inch roof systems it ran at 110 decibel spiking at 115 the Wetbox system 125 decibel spiking over 130 a 15 decibel difference! That's 3X LOUDER  (Why is it 3X Louder? - Learn more on our Sound 101 Page)

PRICE - The wet box system comes in at less than half!

BASS - This is hard to put a solid % on however a customer said his was a 6 vs ours at a 10.

CLARITY - SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER Utilizing top brand speakers with the proper elements of directionality and enclosure design simply can't be matched.

Going with top brand speakers that have been competing in the open market for 50 years vs an enclosure companies off brand cheap speakers results in exactly what you would expect..

Those 50 years of trial and error and competition by actual audio engineers make all the difference.

SOUND STAGING - no comparison one speaker 4 inches from your face completely eliminates sound staging and all stereo presence. It is forced mono due to proximity. Everything done in the studio on the song itself is stripped away panning, fade stereo etc...gone from the listeners stand point with a single speaker 4 inches from the top of the head.

OUTWARD PROJECTION - our systems project 360 degrees around the vehicle projecting out (not down) with speakers pointed on axis to the ear. (pointed at)

Full range speakers are directional when you are away from the vehicle the tweeters specially turn to mud as they are not directed at the ear but only down at the upholstery.

WEIGHT - Hundreds of pounds over head on an off-road vehicle is the last place you want it.

So much goes into vehicle design and handling. That overhead weight in turns, at speed. Simply doesn't make sense.

We have collected dozens of videos of customer's vehicles showing the same thing. Audio is a physics game where each correct element multiplies on the last one.

When all together the formula can't be beat. Systems can literally be 6x louder and clearer!

It is the same formula known for a hundred years used in every other audio market.

This SXS market just ignores them. Airspace, directionality, speaker size, proximity, on axis listening, outward projection and Speaker quality.

Okay so we just went through and kind of

0:15

compared these two systems

0:17

um this is kind of the best you could

0:19

get I mean he's got the pro box with

0:21

tens which makes a big difference and

0:23

then he's got the Fosgate supporting

0:25

cans

0:26

um what are you just shy of you said 14.

0:29

that's near the sub after your sub goes

0:30

in we'll be at 15. yeah so he had he's

0:32

adding a thousand dollars of our sub so

0:34

prior he's at about 14k here so we went

0:36

through with him and showed him the

0:38

differences between the two the main

0:39

thing that we're after one is to of

0:41

course lose all the top weight of the

0:43

roof but it's to get spatial sound

0:45

that's around you it's not just down on

0:46

your head the closer you are to one

0:48

speaker the more you're getting mono

0:49

you're getting the right side you're

0:51

getting the left side so ours are

0:53

designed one to get you in a sound field

0:55

that's coming at you two years laterally

0:57

instead of to the top of your head and

0:59

the other is that when you're outside of

1:00

the bike you have projection as a 360.

1:03

so we got some of those so I just wanted

1:05

to see what did you think overall

1:06

compared to how these two uh compared

1:10

um well first also have a fan impressed

1:11

with this box because I'm not an audio

1:13

guy but or someone you know starting out

1:16

with it's pretty impressive and in a

1:17

Rockford's attitude with yours

1:19

is louder clearer and it's more round

1:22

I'm not getting the mids and highs like

1:25

I think maybe with the head unit I'll

1:26

put in here for sure to clear it up a

1:28

little bit but and we talked about how

1:30

he can also swap the speakers out

1:32

um there are better speakers than what

1:35

come in the roof the fabrication of the

1:36

roof is is awesome but there are

1:38

certainly better speakers so you can

1:40

always do that as well but but like I

1:41

said it's not like you made a mistake

1:43

we're a new company this is kind of the

1:45

best that you could do it's still

1:46

probably the best he's going to run into

1:47

out out in the wild uh but yeah we're

1:50

gonna set him up here with some subs so

1:52

that'll help them he's going to do the

1:53

two tens and like we told him the major

1:55

advantage you know his sound is all

1:58

trapped in the cab even though it's loud

2:00

of course it falls out but as you know

2:03

if you put speakers in the doors

2:05

like if you had our door pods then his

2:07

audio does this

2:09

so like we do eights for the door so

2:11

this system becomes a completely

2:12

different system when you have outer

2:13

projection

2:15

we appreciate your help and showing us

2:16

all this and and letting us get some

2:18

footage we haven't really put one side

2:19

by side before so yeah

2:21

thanks for the subs yeah for sure
